These phones aren't the smallest , but they're pretty sturdy. They measure 54x 30 x 202 (including the antenna) and are comfortable to hold in the hand, with the rubber surround providing a secure grip even in gloved or wet hands. The T7 is rated for a range of 10km in perfect conditions, though of course this will depend a lot on terrain etc. Built up areas will reduce this significantly, so don't think about leaving your phone behind, but for outdoor group activities you should be within range.
